About Drawing Prompts:
Drawing prompts was created as part of a plan to get students sketching more in design class.
Based in the idea that we need to leave our last class, conversation, or meeting behind – sketching is one way to refocus our creative energy. Each activity is created to take about 5 minutes or less. By forcing ourselves to look at a problem under specific constraints, we create sketches that change our thinking in new or unique ways. The time limit create artificial barriers to keep your pencil moving. The activities are best led by a facilitator to guide a group of people through each activity and be the time keeper.
INSTRUCTIONS: Use a creative drawing prompt at the start of art class! Each is set up as a PDF that can be printed on 8.5x11” paper ahead of time to hand out to your class or team.
